Today is an exciting day! I have teamed up with seven other women to bring you The Repurpose Design Series. We want to encourage our readers to give your salvage some swagger! Before I touch on this collaboration, and reveal my project, I want to introduce these lovely women to you. Please go visit their blogs and check out their project reveal!

Every three weeks we will reveal a project on our blog that we repurposed. The catch is we can only spend $20 on this item. I will be going to a lot of garage sales to hunt for the perfect items! I love me some junk! We would love it if you followed us along on this fun collaboration in hopes to inspire you to breathe new life into some items that others may deem as ugly. We want to see your projects! Follow us on Instagram and post a photo of you project with the hashtag #salvageswagger so we can see it and every Thursday starting May 7th we will choose our favorite item and it will be featured on all of our Instagram accounts! Who’s ready to give their salvage some swagger?!
So here is my first item for this series! I found this stool at an estate sale for a whoppin $5! Here is the before…
I used some leftover white paint that my husband had used on the trim in our house and gave it two coats. I wanted to give it some farmhouse flair so I decided to add the grain sack stripes to it. I put the tape down and the painted the edges of the tape white so the gray paint wouldn’t bleed through, like this…
I painted one coat of gray chalk paint and after it dried a little (not all the way) I pulled off the tape. Once the paint was fully dry I sanded the stool to give it a distressed look. Such a big transformation on this little stool!
What do you think of this farmhouse stool? I was thinking at first that I would take this to my booth but now I’m really liking it here, so now I’m torn!
Make sure to check out the other ladies projects and enjoy your day!
